3 morning drinks for longevity
3 simple morning drinks that are not only refreshing, but can also contribute to a longer and better-quality life. Do you know them?

Every day we encounter stress, rushing, and unhealthy habits, so taking care of our health has become of vital importance. Although you might say you know all this, having it in such a condensed form is certainly not redundant, so it's worth thinking once again about these familiar drinks. By the time you finish reading, it will be clear why.

1. Tea – a natural elixir of longevity

Tea is one of the oldest drinks in the world, enjoyed by people for thousands of years. It not only has a pleasant taste but is also a rich source of antioxidants, which help fight free radicals and thus slow down the aging process.

A study published in the Annals of Epidemiology showed that drinking green tea reduces the risk of heart disease and premature death. A study conducted by the Japanese National Cancer Center found that participants who drank five cups of green tea per day had the lowest risk of death from heart disease, stroke, and respiratory diseases.

In addition, research published on news-medical.net showed that tea consumption is linked with a 24% reduction in mortality from diseases not associated with cardiovascular diseases. This study included as many as 131,401 people aged 18 to 95.

What does this mean for you? Regular consumption of tea, especially green tea and hibiscus tea, can significantly contribute to your health. Although these teas are the most studied, many other herbal teas, such as chamomile, mint, or ginger, also offer numerous benefits.

2. Coffee – more than just an energizer

Coffee is often a topic of debate when it comes to its impact on health. However, many studies show that moderate coffee consumption can bring numerous benefits.

A study by Harvard University, which lasted more than 30 years and included nearly 300,000 people, showed that those who drink coffee moderately live longer. The results, published in the journal Circulation, proved that moderate coffee intake is linked to lower overall mortality, and especially to a lower risk of heart and neurological diseases.

Furthermore, research shows that coffee reduces the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. This applies to both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee, which means that coffee contains other protective substances in addition to caffeine.

Tip for you: If you want to get the most benefit from coffee, choose organically grown coffee. Such coffee contains more beneficial compounds and fewer harmful chemicals, as conventionally grown coffee is one of the most sprayed agricultural crops.

3. Water – the foundation of life

Water is the most basic and important drink for our bodies. However, many people do not drink enough water, which can lead to dehydration and numerous health problems.

Scientists from Loma Linda University found that people who drink five glasses of water a day have a significantly lower risk of fatal heart attack than those who drink two glasses of water or less.

Additionally, research has shown that drinking 5 to 6 glasses of water daily reduces the risk of a fatal heart attack by 60-70%.

How to include more water in your day? Start your day with a glass of fresh water, perhaps with a squeeze of lemon for extra refreshment. Drink water throughout the day, not just when you’re thirsty. Avoid sugary and energy drinks, which do not meet the body's need for pure water.
