When doctors advise against sweets, they don’t mean sugar
The sugar in desserts is also collateral damage, which isn’t the most dangerous thing. What’s more dangerous is what comes with it, and we’re not even aware of it...

Surely you’re wondering what is the most harmful thing in sweets? No, it’s not sugar, but cholesterol!

Everyone who regularly goes to the gym says it’s good to avoid egg yolks. That’s why they make omelets from egg whites, because it has few calories and, above all, little cholesterol. It’s true that yolks have a lot of nutrients, but they also have some harmful ones. The same applies to meat, milk, and dairy products. These are all biologically very beneficial foods, but we can easily live without them. And that’s just fine, because as we get older, good things become less necessary (since we get enough of them elsewhere), and the bad things show up more and more.

Most people first think it would be good to cut out meat, but don’t do this overnight. Instead, try to gradually replace meat, milk, and dairy products with these foods:

1. Oatmeal
Eat more oatmeal, because it’s good for your heart and blood vessels. In addition, oatmeal has a lot of fiber, so it has a cleansing effect and gives your body enough energy to get you through from breakfast to lunch without any problems. Oats contain beta-glucan, which prevents the recycling of cholesterol in the body and promotes its excretion.

2. Nuts
Legumes, seeds, hazelnuts, walnuts, and almonds are extremely helpful in fighting cholesterol. They are an excellent source of phytosterols, which are plant-based forms of cholesterol and take over all the duties in the gut that would otherwise be done by real cholesterol. Since they are much less harmful, we recommend eating two handfuls of nuts a day. One in the morning and one in the afternoon...

3. Avoiding margarine
Margarine greatly increases cholesterol. Research even shows that margarines that supposedly don’t contain cholesterol can raise cholesterol in the body up to 6 times more than, for example, butter. So when doctors mention sugar, they actually mean everything made with margarine. These are mainly pastries, sauces, dressings... None of this should be eaten!

4. Dietary supplements
The greatest danger of dietary supplements is that we overuse them. Here, it’s hard to find the right amount, especially because we also eat regular food, which has its own effects (there is a known example with grapefruit, which increases the effect of medicines, so it shouldn’t be eaten).

Dietary supplements that lower cholesterol have another problem: garlic. Garlic is extremely effective, but the downside is bad breath. Remember: if there’s no bad breath, then that garlic isn’t medicinal.

So, be careful...
