What not to eat when you have a cold
Did you know that certain types of food only make cold symptoms worse? As long as you are sniffling and coughing, avoid the following foods.
 
1. Store-bought fruit juices Nowadays, all juices are made from fruit extract and differ only in their percentages. 100% fruit juice means it has as much concentrate as can be obtained from one liter, which is of course not the same as freshly squeezed juice. In addition to the fact that store-bought fruit juices don’t contain living organisms that would strengthen the immune system, these drinks contain enormous amounts of sugar. A lot of sugar literally robs the body of vitamins.

2. Fried foods Fried food isn’t recommended even when we’re healthy. Imagine what happens in the body when it’s fighting an illness and, at the same time, has to work hard to process fried food. Fried food contains a lot of saturated fats, so don’t waste energy on unsuitable foods.

3. Coffee When we get sick, we usually need to drink a lot to cleanse the body. Coffee, or rather caffeine, acts as a diuretic, which causes dehydration of the body. Don’t overload your already weakened immune system.

4. Sour foods Sour food can damage the mucous membrane and make symptoms even worse. Avoid pickled vegetables and tomatoes, but you can squeeze lemon without worries, as it acts alkaline in the body.

5. Alcohol Some people think a shot of strong liquor in morning coffee acts as medicine, but that’s not true. Similar to coffee, alcohol also causes dehydration of the body.

6. Dairy products Dairy products contain a lot of protein and vitamin D. Both strengthen the immune system. But milk is also quite inconvenient because it increases the production of natural mucus in the body, which additionally stimulates coughing. If possible, cut out milk and dairy products during treatment.
