Since 1951, when the German biochemist Johanna Budwig first used flax in cancer treatment (she used the seeds and the oil), its use began to decline. It became quite clear that a simple cure for a serious disease was not in the interest of capital.
Until recently, flax was considered only an industrial plant, but numerous studies on its medicinal properties (including clinical studies) show that for 50 years we have unjustly neglected flax. Today, even official medicine recognizes that flax seeds and oil can be used to treat constipation, digestive problems, breathing problems, sore throat, eczema, menstrual problems, arthritis, and of course, many types of cancer.
Flaxseed oil has these healing properties even more emphasized. In addition to the above, it regulates cholesterol, stimulates the immune system, contains a lot of alpha-linolenic acid, and a lot of omega-3 fatty acids ...
However, there is one important difference between oil and seeds. The seeds contain lignan compounds, which act antiestrogenically, meaning they stop the development of cancer cells. Just for comparison: in flax seeds there are 300,000 lignan microorganisms per 100 grams of seeds, in second place are sesame seeds with 20,000 microorganisms, and red wine, which is also considered a good antioxidant, only has 91 microorganisms.
Flaxseed oil does not have lignan compounds, but therefore has much stronger other effects. One such effect is that it reduces the possibility of cancer cell formation. Flaxseed oil is good to consume as soon as you notice the first problems, because it optimizes energy utilization and stimulates the renewal of cellular structures. It has many phospholipids that allow membrane renewal and improve the functioning of nerve cells.
Half a century old story
About a decade ago, oncologist and cardiologist Dr. Dan C. Roehm, while searching through an archive, came across Budwig's notes. He treated a group of patients waiting for cancer surgery with Budwig's recipe, and the result astonished him. Roehm, who has been nominated for the Nobel Prize six times, wrote on his blog: This diet is one of the most successful diets for cancer treatment in the world.
So, what is the 50 years forgotten secret?
Add 2 to 5 tablespoons of flaxseed oil, 1 to 3 tablespoons of ground flax seeds (if you grind them with a coffee grinder, don’t grind for too long, as they can oxidize due to heat), and a tablespoon of honey into a bowl of homemade cottage cheese (you can also use yogurt or kefir).
It is good to eat this instead of breakfast (at least 2 hours before the next meal), and during the diet you should also greatly limit sugar (ideally, avoid it completely).
It is important to store flaxseed oil and seeds properly (in a cool, dark, and dry place). Budwig also advises against all animal fats, mayonnaise, butter, margarine, and recommends plenty of fruits and vegetables, as well as warm mint or rosehip tea throughout the day.
In a radio interview in 1967, Dr. Budwig said: Even for patients where surgery was unsuccessful, it is possible in 90% of cases to restore complete health within a few months with the diet.
