The key rule of the banana diet is to eat one banana for breakfast along with one or two glasses of lukewarm water. If this is not enough for you, you can have two or even three bananas (always with a glass of water on the side), but never more than four. Breakfast is the only meal where exceptions are allowed.
Other meals should be smaller, lighter, and more frequent. Don't stick to set patterns (lunch, dinner). You can have 5 or more meals (every 2 hours). It is important to drink water all the time, but you can indulge in a cup of unsweetened coffee or tea.
Choose your main meal, which should always be at the same time during the diet. At that time, you can have lunch according to this recipe:
- 2 tablespoons flax seeds
- 150 grams blueberries
- 1 banana
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger (fresh is best)
- 1 handful spinach
- 1 glass of water
If, after all this, you really can't do without a treat, you can have some dark chocolate (the same number of grams as your weight in kilograms), but only before 3 p.m.
The last banana meal should be before 8 p.m., although ideally you should not eat anything after 6 p.m.
If after a few days on the diet you feel extremely hungry, eat a handful of fresh fruit, but only occasionally. Don't make a habit of it.
Stick to the strict banana regimen for at least 7 days, but never more than 12 days. After that, you must stop the diet to allow your body to recover.
