Datum: 21. JAN 26 - GOOD TO KNOW
When should you not measure your temperature?
Did you know that there are three times of the day when you should not measure your temperature, because the results will not be accurate? Do you know them?

Even doctors themselves admit that deviations can be so significant that the measured temperature greatly differs from the expected values. The difference can be as much as 20%, in either direction.

It is good to know these points and avoid them.

First...

After every meal, it is normal and expected for your temperature to rise. This means that for at least one hour after eating, you should not measure your fever. In fact, every time we eat, our body temperature rises—especially if the food is full of sugar (energy).

A very important point is also around four o’clock in the morning. At that time, you will measure the lowest temperature, because the body does not recognize any need to maintain its working temperature. This is also the time when the whole organism is at rest and cleansing functions are mainly active. Just be careful, because every organism has its own lowest point, so never measure your temperature while sleeping or immediately after getting up. Wait at least half an hour for your body to adjust to working temperature.

Sleeping time can also be in the afternoon!

And then there is the time when we have the highest temperature (even when we are not ill): this is around five in the afternoon, when the cortisol level in the body is at its highest. This is a stress hormone, which has been proven to also affect temperature. It is very important to spend this afternoon period as calmly as possible; some even recommend an afternoon rest. Cortisol does not only affect temperature, but it can also sometimes send incorrect signals, which can temporarily worsen your health condition.

In any case, the afternoon point can be very critical.

Take care of yourself.
