Overdoing it with honey is not good. Just as overdoing it with sugar is not good.
There is an unwritten rule among nutritionists that says people eat in a day as many grams of sugar as their body weight. If you weigh 60 kilograms, statistics show that you eat 60 grams of sugar per day, which is the worst possible option.
The truth is, it’s hard to avoid sugar these days and it really takes effort if you want to reduce your sugar intake. It’s already a success if you can replace sugar with honey. That’s why nutritionists suggest your goal should be to reduce sugar, but half of the sugar should be in the form of honey (30 grams of sugar and 30 grams of honey). Only when you reach this ratio will your weight neither increase nor change, your health will be better, you’ll have less tooth decay, and a host of other beneficial effects.
And here’s another tip to consider...
Because honey is also filling, it’s worthwhile to drink a cup of lukewarm water with a teaspoon of honey dissolved in it in the morning (it doesn’t have to be on an empty stomach), refrain a bit in the afternoon, and then drink another cup half an hour before bed. This way, you’ll give your body enough energy for healthy functioning.
