Did you know that the combination of chia seeds and blueberries has 10 times more omega-3 fatty acids than salmon, 8 times more vitamin C than oranges, 15 times more magnesium than broccoli, 5 times more iron than spinach, and when combined with coconut, it has 8 times more calcium than milk... among all the seeds in the world, chia seeds are the most nutritious. Even more so than hemp and pomegranate seeds.
What about blueberries? They inhibit the formation of cancer, counteract aging, reduce dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Blueberries strengthen the brain, protect the heart, regulate sugar, regulate digestion...
Chia seeds and blueberries are considered superfoods, and the following recipe is no exception.
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of chia seeds
- 2 dl of coconut milk
- 1/2 tablespoon of butter
- 4 tablespoons of blueberries
- spices: cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg
Place the coconut milk and blueberries in the refrigerator overnight. If possible, avoid giant American blueberries, which are often tasteless and have a similar nutrition profile. In small and dark blueberries, much more health is hidden. Soak chia seeds in water for at least half an hour, but it is best to do it overnight. Always soak them in a ratio of 1:3 - for one tablespoon of chia seeds, add 3 tablespoons of water. In principle, 10 minutes of soaking would be enough, you can also use seeds without soaking, but in this case, still add a little water because chia seeds will absorb all the liquid in the drink, and you will get a too thick substance.
A word about spices: if you want to make the drink even healthier, it is best to use all three, without being stingy. Note that ginger has a slightly spicy taste, too much cinnamon will make the drink bitter, and nutmeg is considered a semi-drug, so it's not good to overdo it.
To prepare the drink, put all the ingredients in a blender and mix for a minute or two. Serve cold, but do not use ice cubes. Such a drink is an ideal breakfast replacement and a true vitamin-energetic bomb.
