How to eat fewer calories without giving up
Research shows that mushrooms are an excellent substitute for meat - both in terms of nutritional value and quantity
Mushrooms provide the same feeling of fullness as meat, making them a great substitute for meat dishes. Studies have shown that one portion of a delicious beef steak can contain up to 780 calories, but if you were to eat the same amount of mushrooms, it would only be 340 calories, with similar amounts of other nutrients.
If we were to go to the extreme and eat only mushrooms instead of meat throughout the year, we would consume 20,000 fewer calories.
Of course, it's much better not to go to extremes, which means we recommend having plenty of steak with mushrooms this autumn and winter.
Why is it good to eat mushrooms?
There are 200 types of edible mushrooms known, all of which are classified as nutriceuticals, substances that act as both food and medicine. Besides the classic mushrooms, there are also mushrooms without which we wouldn't have kefir, buttermilk, yogurts, cheeses, wine, tofu, fermented dough, sauerkraut... Mushrooms are far more important than we realize.
And without mushrooms, we wouldn't have antibiotics.
