When you quench your thirst with the wrong drink: why carbonated beverages, juices and energy drinks do not quench thirst
Sugar in carbonated drinks draws water out of the cells and increases thirst – in summer, juices, energy drinks and beer are among the worst choices for hydration.
Doctors have explained which drinks do more harm than good to our bodies. In addition, there are drinks that do not quench our thirst and nothing good happens when we drink a glass. There are drinks that make us gain weight, spoil our blood composition, slow down metabolism and harm the processes carried out by internal organs.
To quench your thirst, it is good to know the list of liquids that harm the body for several reasons. These are: carbonated drinks, packaged juices, beer, all types of yeast-based drinks, flavored waters, energy and dairy drinks ... None of these should be consumed in the summer months.
The fact is that all these drinks contain a huge amount of preservatives, sugar, flavor enhancers and other chemicals. All of the above-mentioned drinks in the hot summer months can lead to a significant deterioration in health and, instead of quenching thirst, can eventually cause even greater thirst.
The best solution for a hot summer is still water.
