Prunes are considered one of the best foods for regulating digestion, improving anemia, and many other important effects. Try it ...

Prunes are among the best fruits in our region. Although we most often eat prunes around Christmas, you can also enjoy them in summer, when your body needs the benefits of prunes the most.

What is it about?

Prunes regulate, heal, and relieve intestinal troubles. Even in ancient times, they were used to ease constipation – both in adults and in children. The juice is considered a mild natural laxative, but since it also contains a lot of iron and other minerals, it should be one of the most important foods we know.

Apple and pear juice have similar properties, but not nearly to the same extent as prune juice.

Prune juice regulates cholesterol. It has a high content of chlorogenic acid, which reduces the level of bad cholesterol in the body. In addition, it protects against brain damage and vascular damage that could result from too many free radicals. It protects the heart and stabilizes blood pressure (it contains a lot of potassium, which keeps the heart healthy). Since we live in a time when teenage diabetes is on the rise, because of this, all industrially sweetened drinks should be replaced with prune juice. We also cannot overlook the large amount of fiber found in prunes, which have a strong cleansing effect. And one more advantage to highlight: prune juice contains minerals and vitamins that strengthen hair follicles, making hair stronger and shinier.

How to Prepare Prune Juice?

It's simple: put dried prunes in water overnight. The next morning, remove the pits and blend everything together. Dilute the juice as needed.

In the beginning, pay attention to how prunes affect your digestion. At first, drink only one glass of diluted juice a day; later you can have more, but no more than three.

You can improve the taste by adding a bit of homemade apple juice.
