5 Weight Loss Myths That Actually Make You Gain Weight
In the flood of weight-loss diets, there are also tips that actually have the opposite effect.
1. Vegetarians and vegans lose weight more easily
Deciding not to eat meat and animal proteins doesn't necessarily mean you'll lose weight. If you don't understand how, for example, a vegan diet works, you'll quickly deplete your body, leading not to weight loss but to the additional formation of fat deposits that the body creates as reserves for tough times. Additionally, many people seek a meat substitute, so they often opt for cakes, pastries, sweets, and eat more snacks between meals... If you decide to cut meat from your diet, inform yourself well about it. There are many positive effects, but also many temptations.

2. Cutting out carbs
Does carb-free food really help with weight loss? Not entirely true. Remember that there are good and bad carbohydrates, and they are substances that our body needs. However, simple carbohydrates are very harmful and fattening, while complex ones are found in nuts, fruits, and vegetables and are very important for health. Grains, which have a lot of carbohydrates but also contain many vitamins, minerals, and fibers, are especially worth mentioning. Therefore, whole grain bread, rice, and pasta are beneficial for health and figure.

3. Low-calorie diet drinks
One of the biggest conspiracies of our time is low-calorie diet drinks, which give the false impression that they don't make you gain weight. Such drinks may indeed not contain calories, but artificial sweeteners cause even greater cravings for sweets, stimulate appetite, and indirectly affect the body's ability to absorb nutrients. After a diet drink, you'll quickly feel hungry again, but if you drink a glass of natural juice or tea (sweetened with honey), your food cravings will be less frequent.

4. Fats make you gain weight
Be careful with this one. Besides carbohydrates, fats are a very important source of energy. Carbohydrates provide quick energy, which is why they are so fattening because people don't have a sense of when and how much they really need, while fats burn more slowly and provide energy to the body for several hours. If you eat low-fat yogurt, it can be a meal in vain that will introduce more harmful substances into your body, as beneficial fatty acids are removed. Soon you'll feel hungry again, and by the end of the day, your calorie count will exceed the optimal number. Or you'll be hungry all day despite eating a lot. Olives, pumpkin seeds, flaxseed oil, nuts are full of healthy fats and are important companions in weight loss.

5. Protein diets are the best way to lose weight
Protein diets are occasionally very popular because they help you lose a lot of weight relatively quickly. But the downside of such diets is the yo-yo effect, which cannot be avoided because the body needs a balanced diet. It's important to know that certain vitamins and minerals are fat-soluble, and without carbohydrates, the body's absorption is impossible... Eliminating any of these important ingredients means a deficiency of certain substances on the other side. Protein diets can upset the body's balance, which can cause serious complications. It's very important to eat a varied diet, so the best diet is to eat smaller meals more often during the day.
