If last year the biggest hit was celery juice, this year everyone is raving about the benefits of cucumber juice. Is cucumber juice really that good?!

Unfortunately, cucumber juice is just like any other green vegetable juice. It doesn't stand out in any way, so it doesn't have any impact on detoxifying the body, and you won't lose weight because of this juice. Is that true?

Let's start from the beginning. Cucumber juice has a high water content. Just under 20 percent are nutrients, which are certainly beneficial for the body. But it's the water in the juice that counts. It helps with hydrating the body. Proper hydration can strengthen the immune system, as a well-hydrated body can better absorb nutrients. Hydrating the body with cucumber juice is definitely beneficial. Besides providing nutrients to cells, it maintains joint mobility, regulates body temperature... Cucumber juice is just a simple juice, but incredibly nutritious.

Does cucumber juice contain a lot of potassium?

Many sources claim that cucumbers have even more potassium than bananas. Potassium, together with sodium, lowers blood pressure, but cucumber juice doesn't do anything special in this regard. There are several other juices with similar nutritional value: beetroot juice, broccoli, Brussels sprouts... Cucumber juice is on par with the most powerful vegetable juices.

Contains plenty of antioxidants

Among important antioxidants is vitamin C. In 100 grams of cucumber juice, there is an average of 2.8 mg of vitamin C.

For comparison: a cup of kiwi contains 267 mg, bell peppers 152 mg, strawberries 98 mg, broccoli (82 mg), tomatoes (55 mg)... The fact is, cucumber juice doesn't stand out in terms of vitamin C, but it more than others lowers blood pressure, reduces blood sugar levels... Several studies have confirmed that consuming two cups of cucumbers per week reduces the risk of strokes by more than 20 percent.

Is cucumber juice a good source of vitamin K?

Vitamin K is important for bone health, improves blood clotting, and strengthens the immune system. Unfortunately, cucumbers don't stand out in terms of vitamin K compared to other green vegetables that are richer in this vitamin. Kale, spinach, Brussels sprouts have even more vitamin K, but cucumbers, due to other elements, are best at preventing blood clots, regulating blood pressure, and improving blood vessel elasticity.

Does cucumber juice really help with weight loss?

Unfortunately, no! A cup of cucumber juice has about 280 calories, and the most problematic fact is that there are many industrial juices on the market with added artificial sweeteners. Such juice is more likely to make you gain weight.

What to say about cucumber juice in conclusion?

Some properties are much better in spinach, broccoli, carrots, and kale, but the combination offered by cucumber juice is unique. To find out if this is the right juice for you, try drinking it for at least 3 consecutive days. If you feel better, then stick with it.

The juice that benefits you doesn't necessarily have to be the best in everything.
