There is a simple way to find out how your internal organs are doing. The health of your respiratory system, intestines, kidneys, teeth (including bad breath), hormone balance, and more is most prominently reflected in the throat. The test is approximate, but accurate enough to determine if it is time to visit a doctor.
For the test, you will need a metal spoon, a clear plastic bag, and a strong source of light. The stronger the light, the better the results. How does the test work?
Turn the spoon upside down and scrape the coatings from the back of your tongue a few times. Try to get as close to the throat as possible.
Then place the spoon in the plastic bag and seal it well. Place the spoon under the light for 60 seconds. Strong light helps bacteria grow faster, making them more visible.
And what can be seen after one minute?
Take the spoon out of the bag and pay attention to two things: the traces on the spoon and the smell. In a healthy person, there are no traces, the spoon remains clean and odorless.
If you detect an ammonia smell, it may indicate kidney problems or even diabetes. A fruity smell could suggest metabolism issues or ketoacidosis (a precursor to diabetes).
An unpleasant odor also indicates dental problems, gum inflammation, and bad breath. It is important to note that an unpleasant odor does not always indicate internal organ disease, but rather that you need to take better care of your oral health.
What about visible traces?
If the sample obtained from the throat turns brown, it indicates issues with the lungs, kidneys, or intestines.
If it remains light in color, it could be related to hormones or just dental issues.
Also, pay attention to the amount of the sample collected. If it significantly increases during the test, be cautious in the following days as it indicates the body is fighting unwanted bacteria. It is very important to strengthen the immune system with proper nutrition (especially plenty of vitamin C - surprisingly, black pepper has the highest amount of vitamin C!).
Unfortunately, you may not notice a visible difference in the size of the sample most of the time, which mostly means you should look for a stronger light bulb and hold the spoon closer to the light source.
Use this test when you are feeling unwell to immediately determine whether you are just tired or if you are genuinely unwell.
