Homemade spread from butter, garlic, olive oil, and parsley is tasty and healthy – among other things, garlic boosts the immune system and helps lower blood pressure.
One of the secrets of Mediterranean cuisine is garlic butter, which is relatively easy to make, and as far as health benefits go, it just bursts at the seams. The fact is, you can use this spread in sandwiches, add it to grilled dishes (including meat), and it's healthiest if you dip celery sticks into the spread...
Ingredients:- 250 grams of butter
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 small onion
- parsley
- pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Preparation: Soften the butter to room temperature and cut it into cubes. Peel the garlic and cut it in half. Put it in boiling water for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, blend the butter in a mixer, add finely chopped onion, parsley, and ground pepper (both to taste), then add the cooked and softened garlic. Mix everything well to get a smooth mixture, and only at the end add a tablespoon of olive oil to the spread.
Mix everything a little more, then transfer it all into a glass jar and store it in the refrigerator (you can also freeze it if you want fresh and healthy spread throughout the winter). Let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours.
