When we are young, we have no trouble stimulating our internal organs. But as the years go by, our digestion becomes increasingly sluggish and slow, so it needs to be kept in good condition. Here are three simple and fast ways to activate and speed up digestion.
1. Lukewarm Water and Lemon
Mix the juice of half a lemon into a glass of lukewarm water and drink it at least 30 minutes before a meal. This will help you easily control your appetite, prevent cramps in the stomach, provide your body with plenty of vitamin C and fiber—good against various diseases—and at the same time get your whole digestive tract working. Do not sweeten the lukewarm water with lemon.
2. Olive Oil and Lemon
On an empty stomach, take a tablespoon of olive oil and the juice of 1/4 of a lemon. At first, this combination may seem sour and unusual, but it strengthens the kidneys and liver, prevents stomach cramps, reduces heartburn and bloating, and even inhibits the development of cancerous diseases. Olive oil with lemon has been the most important recipe for almost all Mediterranean nations for thousands of years. One more thing... Only use high-quality, organically produced olive oil.
3. Lukewarm Water and Baking Soda
Mix half a teaspoon of baking soda into a glass of lukewarm water. Use only pharmaceutical-grade, aluminum-free baking soda, and those with stomach ulcers or other issues should be cautious with this advice. Baking soda should be drunk on an empty stomach and at least 20 minutes before a meal.
And finally, one universal tip...
A 10-minute gentle walk will already activate your digestion. Remember: it doesn’t matter how far you walk in this time, only that you move and get up from the afternoon couch in front of the TV.
