If you exercise before breakfast, you can burn twice as much fat as those who eat breakfast first—this has even been confirmed by the numbers!
In one of the studies, which lasted 6 weeks, 30 overweight men participated. They were divided into three groups: the first group exercised before breakfast, the second after breakfast, and the third didn’t change their lifestyle. The results were astonishing: those who exercised on an empty stomach burned up to twice as much fat! The reason for this is that due to lower insulin levels (the hormone that regulates blood sugar), their bodies switched to burning fat stores.
In addition, they had better insulin sensitivity—which means their bodies managed blood sugar more effectively, reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes. Even though both groups, before and after breakfast, improved their fitness and lost weight, morning exercise on an empty stomach brought additional health benefits.
So, if you’re thinking about starting your day more actively, it might be wise to put on your sport shoes before breakfast. This doesn’t mean you have to go run a marathon right away—even brisk walking, yoga, or a short bodyweight workout can bring amazing results. And of course, be sure to have a balanced post-workout breakfast full of protein, healthy fats, and fiber.
Maybe now is the right time to try out this morning habit and see how it affects your body and well-being ...
