At the Ionian Medical Faculty in Greece, they found that eating dinner increases the risk of stroke and cardiovascular diseases by 66%. If you eat dinner one hour before sleeping, this percentage is only 10%, but if you wait 70 minutes, this risk practically disappears.
Another important finding is that you don’t have to worry about gaining weight if you eat dinner two hours before going to bed. In addition, you won’t have problems with acidity and digestion. Reflux, in fact, occurs if you go to bed too soon after dinner. In a lying position, the chance that stomach acid enters the throat is much higher.
And there is a third drawback of late dinners worth mentioning: bad breath.
If you feel that two hours is too much, you can help yourself with unsweetened lemonade, which will shrink your stomach and satisfy your appetite.
