The story of this recipe began a few years ago when Dr. Ajay Goel from Baylor University Institute in Dallas, USA, was studying the effects of this drink on depression. Besides the usual medication, he also gave 60 patients turmeric lemonade, and after just over a week, 77.8% showed visible improvement.
When he explained this unusual drink to his colleagues, he inspired Dr. Charles A. Sammons, who works at the cancer research institute at the same university. When he did some quick tests, it turned out that in cancer patients, 68% also showed improvement. It’s worth noting that Sammons’ test subjects consumed 1000 mg of turmeric in juice on an empty stomach.
Only when Goel and Sammons compared the results did they realize that, during the testing period, no one got any other illness, even though there was a viral outbreak at that time. Detailed tests showed that turmeric lemonade very effectively prevents the entry of viruses, which in winter usually cause the most trouble. It seems, if you start drinking this beverage in time, you won’t find a stronger or healthier remedy against winter ailments.
Ingredients for preparing turmeric lemonade
- 4 cups cold, boiled water
- 2 to 4 tablespoons turmeric powder
- 4 tablespoons maple syrup or honey (you can also use half of one and half of the other)
- juice of 2 lemons
- juice of 1 orange (to taste)
Preparation:
Mix all ingredients well, and keep the drink in a dark and cool place. The above recipe gives a quantity that should be drunk between breakfast and lunch (make sure that a sip or two of this drink is the first thing you consume that day).
Many say that depression occurs when there is some inflammation in the brain. This drink cures that in just a few minutes.
Another tip: instead of boiled water, you can also use natural sparkling mineral water, definitely without sugar.
