Remember horseradish more often
Horseradish is one of the healthiest foods during winter, yet unfortunately often forgotten. Unjustly so!
 
Don’t think that now isn’t the time to use horseradish! Horseradish is so healthy and so important as a fighter against flu and colds that we simply cannot overlook it. That’s why horseradish is relevant all winter long. Especially: have you ever thought of storing horseradish in the freezer?

The most common way to use horseradish is to grate it, drain it, rinse it in one or two waters, then drain it again. In the end such horseradish can be mixed with sour cream and eaten as a salad. Alternatively, you can pack the cleaned horseradish into a paper bag and store it in the freezer.

You can use frozen horseradish at any time, just remember to use it, which nowadays, in the era of ginger, wasabi and other competing foods, isn’t so obvious. Horseradish contains a lot of healthy oils that are very important for boosting the immune system.

At this point, it’s also worth recalling another recipe with horseradish.

Ingredients:

  • 500 g honey
  • 100 g horseradish
  • 20 g dried sage leaves
Preparation:

Grate the horseradish and mix it with honey. Then finely chop the sage and thoroughly mix everything together. Pour the prepared mixture into jars and store them in the freezer, but don’t keep them there for more than 12 months. Not because the mixture would spoil, but because the potency of the mixture is halved after one year. It’s best to consume this preparation this winter.

Eat a spoon or two a day (depending on how healthy you feel). This mixture is good for better sinus health, helps with sore throats, flu, and colds. If you sweeten your tea with this mixture, make sure the tea isn’t too hot. Cool the tea to room temperature before sweetening it.
