From popcorn to fight irritability to a banana before bed – nutrition really affects mood, and these changes are simple.
 
Here are 5 tips on how to improve your mood with food. Sometimes we feel bad and think it’s because of work, or someone upset you on the road or at the store, or maybe you had a stressful day dealing with different documents… None of these are really to blame; it’s just that your diet is missing certain components. Find out which ones, and learn how to make every day sunny and joyful with the right food. This will have a positive impact on those around you as well.

1. Quinoa and Popcorn Against Irritability
If you feel like everything is going wrong, everything annoys you, and you’re even irritated with yourself, treat yourself to some popcorn or quinoa. Both foods contain a high amount of harmonious carbohydrates (these are carbohydrates with a complex chemical structure) and the hormone serotonin. Even though these are carbohydrates, popcorn is excellent at soothing hunger.



2. Salmon and Eggs for a Better Mood
Omega-3 fatty acids act as antidepressants and improve mood. So, if you’re feeling down, fry up some eggs with salmon, and if you add chia seeds, the result will be perfect. But if you combine fried eggs with alcohol, the effect will be the opposite. Alcohol increases sadness and lethargy, so it’s best to avoid it.

3. Bananas for Insomnia
If you have a headache, feel too tired to sleep, and feel like you’ve been run over by a truck, eat a banana half an hour before bed, and things might improve. Bananas contain plenty of the sleep hormone melatonin, which also regulates the body's internal rhythm. Bananas are especially suitable for women in menopause.

4. Chicken, Beef, and Turkey Against Lethargy
If you're feeling lethargic, you're probably lacking vitamin B12. If you eat a few pieces of meat before sleep, you'll sleep better, and more easily, and wake up refreshed and full of energy. However, if you want to combat your lethargy with meat during the day, this advice doesn’t work.



5. Kale and Spinach Against Acne and Pimples

Spinach and kale contain lots of vitamin A, which moisturizes the skin, blocks the harmful effects of UV radiation, and prevents the formation of acne. It helps both the elderly and teens going through puberty.
