Lycopene is an important part of the antioxidant defense network. In addition to preventing the development of cancer, it increases the skin’s protection factor, strengthens cell membranes, and does a whole range of other things.
Lycopene can be found in tomatoes, but it's even more interesting in watermelons. If you didn’t know, tomatoes are classified as fruit, while watermelons are considered vegetables. And this gives watermelons a great advantage, as they are rich in minerals and vitamins.
Why is lycopene so important?
Eating foods rich in lycopene has been proven to increase the skin's sun protection factor. It protects cells from damage caused by ultraviolet rays. Lycopene reduces inflammation, prevents the progression of arteriosclerosis, blocks free radicals that cause permanent cellular damage from which tumors can develop. It has been proven that lycopene reduces the risk of age-related macular degeneration, strengthens heart muscle and prevents heart disease, lowers cholesterol levels in the blood...
Do you know how to boost the power of lycopene even further? Studies show that a combination of the following ingredients can be up to 5 times more powerful, and on top of that, the drink is incredibly tasty, with just one side effect. More on that later.
Ingredients:- 1 liter of watermelon
- juice of 4 lemons
Preparation: Cut the watermelon into smaller pieces and make juice from them. You can use a blender. Put this juice on the stove and heat it to just above 72 degrees Celsius. At this temperature, cook the juice for at least 2 to 3 minutes.
Then remove the juice from the heat and let it cool to room temperature, and only at the very end add the lemon juice.
Mix well. Drink no more than one glass of this juice every two hours.
What about the side effect?
Centuries ago, this drink was used for similar purposes as we use Viagra today, with the difference that watermelon with lemon works for both men and women.
