Unfortunately, we humans tend to eat with our eyes, eat out of boredom, and very often we just eat for no reason without even realizing it. The worst things happen when we don’t eat all day and then overeat in the evening, and on top of that, in the morning and for snacks we quickly shove something in and think we’ve solved the problem.
It doesn’t work that easily!
The key question is: do you eat because of hunger, or is it due to an emotional state or mood?
It is very important to know when you last ate and to stick to the 4-hour rule. If your meal is full of nutrients and energy, then it should keep you satisfied for 4 hours. If not, you ate incorrectly and should try to change or supplement this next time. Snacks between meals are exactly what’s to blame for the extra kilos on the scale.
If you want to eat healthy, prepare a healthy meal in advance.
Plan ahead. It is very important not to give in to hunger attacks, but rather have a prepared supply of seeds, nuts, whole grain bread, fruit, vegetables for all your weak moments... Once you figure out what kind of food you need, you’ll be able to shop more rationally, too. Do not pile up food in your fridge that could tempt you...
Uncontrolled overeating
The most dangerous food is the one we eat in front of the TV. Not because it’s actually dangerous, but because our minds are elsewhere, our brains have no control over how much or what we’ve eaten, and then the worst happens. One of the great mysteries of the human body is that the stomach and brain are not connected.
Despite everything, there is a way you can eat in front of the TV. Only do this if you are sitting on an exercise bike and burning calories as you take them in.
Always keep healthy snacks on hand
Healthy snacks include almonds, bananas, raisins, chocolate with 70 percent or more cocoa... Avoid sweet and salty snacks, processed foods (mostly these are over-salted), even fruit juices are not recommended...
From all of this, it’s not hard to see that people would eat only when hungry, but there are so many distractions around us that we simply forget when and what we’re eating.
