Food that has more protein than an egg!
100 grams of chickpeas reduce bad cholesterol, improve gut health, protect the heart, prevent heart diseases, diabetes, and even cancer...
Chickpeas are an exceptional food that is not very common here, so we might not know how to prepare all the wonderful snacks it allows for.
Chickpeas are packed with vitamins A, E, and C, have lots of magnesium, calcium, and potassium, and even more importantly, they contain healthy antioxidants and dietary fiber.
100 grams of chickpea stew is very healing and full of essential nutrients. It is important to soak the chickpeas in water overnight with a teaspoon (or two) of baking soda before cooking. Drain them before cooking, add vegetables of your choice, and remember to salt the soup only at the very end (or better yet, avoid salting altogether!).
Chickpea patties are also very delicious. Cook them until they are soft, then mash them, add spices, and shape them into patties. Bake them at 200 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.
