If you exercise before breakfast, you can burn twice as much fat as those who eat breakfast first – the numbers confirm this too!
In one study that lasted 6 weeks, 30 overweight men participated. They were divided into three groups: the first group exercised before breakfast, the second after breakfast, and the third did not change their lifestyle. The results were astonishing: those who exercised on an empty stomach burned twice as much fat! The reason for this is that due to lower levels of insulin (the hormone that regulates blood sugar), their bodies switched to burning fat stores.
Additionally, they had better insulin sensitivity - meaning that their bodies more efficiently managed blood sugar, reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes. Despite both groups, before and after breakfast, improving their fitness and losing weight, exercising on an empty stomach in the morning brought additional health benefits.
So if you are considering starting your day more actively, it may be wise to put on your sports shoes before breakfast. This doesn’t mean you have to immediately run a marathon – even a brisk walk, yoga, or a short bodyweight workout can bring excellent results. And of course, make sure to have a balanced breakfast after exercising, full of proteins, healthy fats, and fiber.
Perhaps now is the right time to try this morning habit and see how it affects your body and well-being...
