Dr. Ibrahim Fanci conducted a study among 800 elderly people aged 72 to 103 years. Their task was to consume a piece of probiotic cheese (products rich in probiotics - kefir, yogurt, cottage cheese, cheeses ...) for 3 weeks before breakfast.
During the investigation, everyone's digestion improved (previously more than a third had occasional problems), the blood test results were several times (!!!) better in 53% of the participants than before the trial. The number of white blood cells increased by at least 3 times for everyone (white blood cells contribute to a more effective immune system). The number of seasonal infectious diseases significantly decreased.
The fact is that good (probiotic) bacteria did their job and strengthened the body's resistance. White blood cells are crucial in fighting infectious diseases.
Various studies have shown that probiotics contain live microorganisms, yeasts that strengthen the intestinal flora. We also know about prebiotics, which contain a lot of fibers and other elements that strengthen the intestinal flora. The best are symbiotics, which contain probiotics and prebiotics together.
Today we know that probiotics lower cholesterol, reduce blood pressure, reduce inflammation ... However, we must be careful because the combination with antibiotics can cause diarrhea, patients with pancreatic problems can experience additional complications, and the most controversial is the use of probiotics that promote the growth of pork and chicken meat.
Finally, it is good to know that the human body is home to 400 to 500 trillion microbes. They all have their function and only probiotics from different sources will give the desired results. Eat a slice or two of cheese in the morning, drink a cup of kefir during the day, and in the evening add some chia seeds, nuts, raisins to a cup of yogurt ...
But remember not to overdo it in anything.
And the most important finding: if you persist with probiotic supplements for at least a month and a half, you will have 70% fewer problems with pollen.
