Remember horseradish often
Horseradish is one of the healthiest foods in the winter, but unfortunately often forgotten. Unjustly!
Don't think that it's not the time to use horseradish now! Horseradish is such a healthy and important fighter against flu and colds that we simply cannot overlook it. That's why horseradish is relevant all winter long. Especially, have you ever thought about storing horseradish in the freezer?
The most common way to use horseradish is to grate it, drain it, wash it in one or two waters, then drain it again. In the end, you can mix this horseradish with sour cream and enjoy it as a salad. Alternatively, you can pack cleaned horseradish in a paper bag and store it in the freezer.
Frozen horseradish can be used anytime, just remember it, which is not so obvious nowadays with ginger, wasabi, and other competitive foods. Horseradish contains many healthy oils that are crucial for strengthening the immune system.
Additionally, let's remember another horseradish recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 500 g honey
  • 100 g horseradish
  • 20 g dried sage leaves
Preparation:

Grate the horseradish and mix it with honey. Then finely chop the sage leaves and mix everything well. Transfer this prepared mixture into jars and store them in the freezer, but not for more than 12 months. Not because the mixture will go bad, but because its potency halves after one year. It's best to consume this preparation this winter.

Eat a spoonful or two a day (depending on how healthy you feel). This mixture is good for sinus health, helps with throat inflammation, flu, and colds. If you sweeten tea with this mixture, make sure the tea is not too hot. Cool the tea to room temperature before sweetening it.
