Why You Shouldn’t Drink Coffee with Fast Food
Although it may not seem connected at first glance, research shows that coffee has a very negative effect on the digestion of fast food.
Canadian experts conducted a study on the impact of fast food on the body and discovered something unusual. But let’s take it step by step.

Fast or street food can be quite healthy, but we need to take our time with it, eat slowly (for at least half an hour), and most importantly, eat without stress. Moreover, it's always better to drink water with it rather than sugary carbonated drinks, and under no circumstances should you drink coffee.

If you must, then drink coffee at least 10 minutes before your main meal.

The Canadians found that glucose levels in the blood increase by almost 30 percent if you drink coffee while eating fast food. If you drink the equivalent of 2 cups of coffee (about 200 ml) during the meal, glucose levels can rise by over 50 percent, which is a dangerous level even for healthy individuals.

Furthermore, researchers warn that the combination of fast food and coffee is harmful because the body cannot process simple carbohydrates and sugars, which then go directly into the blood or fat deposits (reserve energy). The most dangerous fact is that the same happens with carcinogenic substances, which also remain in the body and are difficult to eliminate.

It's important to note that every time there is an excess of unhealthy fats in food, the body's absorption capacity significantly decreases, causing the body to not receive enough nutrients, making you hungry again soon. If this is combined with caffeine, this slowdown can be up to twice as much.

And researchers discovered something else: the effect of fast food in the body lasts about 5 hours, which means that during this time, it’s not advisable to consume anything containing caffeine (including energy drinks).
