The danger with snacks is that we usually eat a lot of them, even too much, and this leads to weight gain and negatively affects our health. In addition, regular snacks are often too salty, too sweet, contain various flavor enhancers, and the worst are those that have a lot of trans fats and other highly toxic substances. That’s why the most important question is: how to prepare a snack that is healthy, doesn’t contain harmful substances, and doesn’t lead to weight gain?
The solution is simple: roasted chickpeas!
Chickpeas are considered one of the healthiest foods in the world. They are rich in dietary fiber and other nutrients, making them good for heart and vascular health, and especially beneficial for digestion. Chickpeas are also a very important source of protein, help maintain normal blood sugar levels, and have so few calories that you could almost say they are the perfect companion for weight loss.
How to prepare roasted chickpeas?
Soak them in water overnight. The next day, dry them well and squeeze to remove as much water as possible. Then put them in a new pot with water and cook for about 10 minutes. Drain the chickpeas, dry them, and spread them on a baking tray (use baking paper). Drizzle the chickpeas with a little olive oil and bake for 40 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
When you're done baking, you can salt or pepper the chickpeas to taste (highly recommended, as pepper contains a lot of vitamin C), or you can use oregano and any other spices you like.
Give it a try. You’ll be delighted!
Enjoy your meal.
