- 1 tablespoon of almonds
- handful of whole almonds
- 1 large banana (or 2 smaller ones)
- bunch of young nettle leaves
- cup of water
- teaspoon of cinnamon
Soak whole almonds in water for at least 2 to 3 hours to soften. It's not necessary, but your blender will thank you.
Otherwise, put a cup of water and ground almonds in a blender. Blend for 2 to 3 minutes to make simple almond milk. Then gradually add banana chunks, and finally, nettle leaves rinsed under running water.
Nettles can be replaced with dandelion greens, spinach, chard, even with arugula, endive, or any other leafy green. But nettles have an almost incredible structure. They contain 7% protein, 10 times more iron than spinach, 6 times more vitamin C than lemons, and 5 times more calcium than cow's milk.
